N. Kannan has taken charge as the new Commissioner of Coimbatore City Police on Saturday, January 3, 2026. He succeeds A. Saravana Sundar, who has moved to the position of IGP, West Zone. Kannan brings extensive experience from previous roles including Additional Commissioner of Police in Chennai and postings across various districts and the Intelligence Bureau, as well as service in the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
