Thirteen central leaders of Bangladesh's student-led National Citizen Party (NCP) have resigned over its alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of the February elections. The resigning leaders cited the alliance, lack of transparency, and political compromise as reasons. Prior to the official announcement, 30 NCP leaders submitted a memorandum objecting to the partnership. The NCP emerged from the 'Students against Discrimination' platform with backing from interim government chief Muhammad Yunus.
