
Pakistan is establishing a Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Islamabad to enhance security for Chinese nationals working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The announcement was made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a visit to Beijing, where he met with Chinese Interior Minister Wang Xiaohong. This move follows repeated attacks targeting Chinese workers, with both ministers agreeing to strengthen counterterrorism cooperation and a joint rapid response system. China expressed satisfaction with Pakistan's security efforts and willingness to deepen cooperation in various security and law enforcement areas.
