Sacred relics of Lord Buddha, discovered in 1898 at Piprahwa, have been repatriated to India after 127 years. These artifacts, including gem relics and reliquaries, were previously distributed globally. A portion, listed for auction by Sotheby's, was returned through government intervention and international Buddhist community support. The Ministry of Culture stated this successful repatriation sets a benchmark in cultural diplomacy, with an exposition now showcasing over 80 objects from the 6th century BC to the present.
