Former Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla has reportedly recommended registering an FIR against ex-DGP Sanjay Pandey and two other police officials. The report alleges they conspired to implicate Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde by reinvestigating a 2016 extortion case. Pandey, who headed the state police during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, allegedly used the case to harass a businessman. BJP leaders have called for a thorough investigation, while some sources dismiss the FIR recommendation as legally unsound and politically motivated.
