The United States has seized a Russian-flagged oil tanker, the Marinera (formerly Bella 1), in the North Atlantic after a two-week pursuit. The vessel is linked to Venezuela and is accused of violating U.S. sanctions. Russia condemned the seizure, calling it a violation of maritime law and deploying naval assets, including a submarine, to escort the tanker. Concurrently, the U.S. announced plans to control Venezuela's oil sales indefinitely, using proceeds to rebuild its economy, following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
