
Power sector employees, engineers, and pensioners in Bathinda protested against the proposed sale of PSPCL land and the draft Electricity Amendment Bill 2025. They argued the land, acquired for public purposes, should be used to strengthen power infrastructure and meet rising demand. Protesters also called for the prioritized establishment of two supercritical 800-MW thermal units at the Ropar plant, demanding the state government expedite the process to reduce reliance on external power sources.
