The Indian Army has contracted NIBE Limited, in collaboration with Israel, for advanced long-range rocket launchers under emergency procurement. The 293 crore deal will enhance the Army's deep-strike artillery with systems capable of striking up to 300 km. The Suryastra system, developed with Israeli technology from Elbit Systems, is India's first indigenous multi-calibre rocket launcher, designed for precision surface-to-surface strikes and capable of firing loitering munitions.
