Himachal Pradesh plans to hire 1,000 'rogi mitras' (patient assistants) in a pilot project starting in Hamirpur district to support medical colleges and health institutions. The state will also revise its medical residency policy, increasing the general duty officer quota and introducing new MD/MS programs in several medical colleges.
