
India has strongly protested China's infrastructure development in the Shaksgam Valley, asserting it as Indian territory. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India never recognized the 1963 China-Pakistan Boundary Agreement, deeming it illegal and invalid. New Delhi also rejects the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passing through the region, which it considers illegally occupied by Pakistan. India reserves the right to take necessary measures to safeguard its interests in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
