Cuba's energy supply has been significantly impacted following the US military's securing of Venezuelan ports and oil fields. For over two decades, Cuba received approximately 50,000 barrels of oil daily from Venezuela, which was crucial for both domestic use and income generation through surplus sales. With these shipments now halted, Cuba faces an immediate halving of its energy supply, as it lacks the foreign currency reserves to purchase oil at global market prices.
