The Punjab and Haryana High Court has urged the Union government to establish a clear and humane policy for the regularisation of long-serving contractual MGNREGA staff. Justice Sandeep Moudgil noted that these employees have been working for years in a state of uncertainty and insecurity due to the absence of such a policy. The court directed the Union of India to file an affidavit detailing its stance on regularising these workers, emphasizing their crucial role in the flagship welfare scheme's implementation.
