
Uttar Pradesh is significantly enhancing its sewage treatment infrastructure to combat pollution in the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. Under the Namami Gange Mission Phase-2, new Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) are becoming operational in cities like Agra and Varanasi, treating millions of liters of wastewater daily. The state has approved 74 sewage projects, with many completed, aiming to prevent untreated sewage from entering major rivers and improve public health and environmental conditions.
