K.A. Sengottaiyan, chief coordinator of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), was denied permission by Mettupalayam Municipality to garland a statue of Anna, citing a lack of prior authorization. Sengottaiyan expressed regret, attributing the denial to the ruling DMK government. He also mentioned potential alliances with former AIADMK leader O. Panneerselvam and AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran, and expressed confidence in the TVK's electoral prospects.
