
Police in Ballari, Karnataka, have preliminarily concluded that the bullet which killed Congress worker Rajashekhar during clashes on January 1, was fired from a firearm belonging to a gunman of Congress MLA Nara Bharath Reddy. A bullet casing found in the deceased's body reportedly matches a firearm recovered from one of the MLA's bodyguards, though forensic confirmation is pending. The gunman is currently missing, and police are analyzing videos of the incident. The district's Superintendent of Police was suspended following the incident.
