In 2025, Bastar Range saw a significant push against Left-Wing Extremism, with 256 Naxals killed in encounters and over 1,500 surrendering, according to Inspector General of Police P. Sundarraj. He attributed these successes to sustained intelligence-based operations and coordinated actions by security agencies. Recent operations in Bijapur and Sukma districts resulted in the recovery of 14 Maoist bodies and the seizure of weapons, including an AK-47. Surrendered cadres are reportedly undergoing rehabilitation.
