The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has reinstated financial powers for the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and the Administrator of Chandigarh, allowing them to approve developmental projects up to Rs 100 crore. This reverses a decision from last month that had withdrawn these authorities. The restored powers, applicable to other Union Territories as well, require consultation with financial advisors and adherence to budgetary provisions. Details of approved projects must be reported quarterly to the Department of Expenditure.
