Advocates have petitioned the Calcutta High Court over the alleged omission of approximately 18,000 names, including prominent political figures, from the draft voter list for the West Bengal Bar Council elections. Counsels representing various political affiliations sought the correction and publication of an updated voter roll before the elections scheduled for February 19-21. The High Court is set to hear the matter further on January 7, while the State Bar Council has extended the deadline for name enlistment and corrections.
