The Delhi Legislative Assembly has introduced an amendment to the Court Fees Act, 1870, proposing a full refund of court fees for all amicable settlements, including those reached outside of court. Previously, a full refund was only granted for court-referred alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes, while private settlements received a 50% refund. This change aims to encourage amicable dispute resolution and provide relief to litigants by ensuring a complete refund regardless of the settlement method.
