Two cadres of the Ang Mai-led NSCN-K faction were killed and one injured in a mortar attack on a camp in Myanmar's Pangsau area. The attack, which occurred early January 9, was allegedly carried out by the Yung Aung-led NSCN-K faction. The deceased cadres, identified as Lieutenant Avi and Sergeant Peyao Konyak, were from India. The Ang Mai-led group stated they had exercised restraint despite provocations and accused the Yung Aung-led faction of instigating the attack with non-Naga armed allies.
