
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will commission the Indian Coast Guard's first indigenously built Pollution Control Vessel (PCV), Samudra Pratap, in Goa on January 5. The 114.5-meter vessel, built by Goa Shipyard Limited with over 60% indigenous content, is designed to enhance India's capabilities in marine pollution control, maritime law enforcement, and search and rescue operations. It features advanced systems for oil spill detection and recovery, and is equipped with modern weaponry and firefighting systems.
