A court in Thalassery, Kerala, has sentenced seven RSS-BJP activists to life imprisonment for the 2008 murder of CPI(M) local leader Latheesh. The victim was hacked to death on December 31, 2008, in Thalayi, with his friend also injured during the politically motivated attack. The court acquitted four individuals and noted one accused died during the trial. Charges included murder, conspiracy, and use of explosive substances.
