A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Punjab Police met with Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) officials in Amritsar and Chandigarh to request records concerning 328 missing Guru Granth Sahib 'saroops'. This follows a directive from Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, who authorized the SGPC president to cooperate with the government investigation. The case, involving alleged misappropriation from the SGPC's publishing house, has previously led to an internal inquiry and an FIR, sparking a face-off between the state government and the SGPC.
