The National Cadet Corps (NCC) plans to train one lakh cadets as 'Yuva Apda Mitras' for disaster response and develop 'cyber warriors' to bolster digital defense. The NCC aims to increase its strength to 20 lakh by 2028, with girls comprising 40% of the current strength. New initiatives include training cadets in drone and counter-drone technology and parade commanders marching with swords at the Republic Day Parade. NCC cadets also assisted authorities during Operation Sindoor.
