The UT Administration has formed an 11-member committee to review the Chandigarh Housing Board's (CHB) January 3, 2023 policy on need-based changes in dwelling units. This policy was put on hold following a Supreme Court order on January 10, 2023, which froze the floor area ratio (FAR). The committee, headed by the UT Secretary Estate, will examine the policy in light of the Supreme Court's judgment and submit its report within three weeks, addressing residents' requests for regularization of building modifications.
