A total of 44 candidates have filed nominations for the 18 vacant seats in Nepal's National Assembly election scheduled for January 25. The election is for one-third of the 59 seats, with one seat to be nominated by the president. Major parties including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and Lokatantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal have formed an alliance for these seats, while other parties are contesting independently.
