Climate activist Harjeet Singh was arrested under UP excise laws after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched his premises in connection with alleged misuse of foreign funds. The ED is investigating over Rs 6 crore in remittances received by his organization, Satat Sampada Pvt Ltd, between 2021-2025, suspecting they were used to influence India's energy policy and promote the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty. Authorities also noted Singh's visits to Pakistan and Bangladesh are under scrutiny. Singh was later granted bail.
