
The Green Tamil Nadu Mission will transform state highway stretches in the central region through avenue plantations of native tree seedlings. Funded by the State Highways department and executed by the Forest Department, the project aims to enhance green cover and reduce air pollution from automobile emissions. The initiative, set for implementation in 2026-27, will cover eight forest divisions across several districts, with a target of raising 1,10,000 seedlings.
