
India is committed to achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030 and Net Zero emissions by 2070, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi stated at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) assembly. India has already reached 50% non-fossil fuel electricity capacity, five years ahead of its NDC target, with renewable capacity exceeding 266 GW. The country is prioritizing resilient power systems through energy storage, grid modernization, and innovative bidding for renewable projects, while also strengthening clean energy supply chains and domestic manufacturing.
