The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has issued legal notices to 782 employees for skipping mandatory election training sessions ahead of the January 15 civic polls. Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Dr. Kailas Shinde emphasized that election duty is a national responsibility and warned that criminal cases will be registered if employees do not report immediately. Training sessions, covering procedures and the multi-member ward system with EVM demonstrations, have been conducted across various divisions, with significant absenteeism noted.
