
Tripura's Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath stated the state can achieve power self-sufficiency by increasing solar panel adoption among its 10.57 lakh consumers. He projected that 2 lakh households installing solar panels could generate 400 megawatts, exceeding the current peak demand of 378 megawatts. The state aims to install solar panels on government buildings, expecting to generate 80 megawatts. Nath also highlighted rising per capita income and welfare schemes as indicators of development and improved living standards.
