Following a fire that destroyed approximately 500 motorcycles at Thrissur Railway Station on January 4, a member of the Southern Railway Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee has called for a comprehensive safety audit of all stations under Southern Railway. The audit should focus on parking areas, waiting halls, and public spaces, with particular attention to fire safety, security measures, and emergency response protocols. The demand also includes compensation for motorcycle owners and strengthening safety to restore public confidence.
