Eight individuals have filed a petition with the Bombay High Court alleging that Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar interfered with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election nomination process. The petitioners claim Narwekar pressured election officials to reject their nomination forms for South Mumbai's Colaba area wards. They seek court intervention to accept their nominations and action against the returning officer. Narwekar's family members are also contesting elections in wards within his constituency. The High Court has indicated it will hear the matter at a later date.
