Candidates in the upcoming Mumbai civic elections are reporting significant increases in their declared assets since 2017. Affidavits show substantial wealth growth for many contenders, including former mayor Kishori Pednekar, whose assets rose from Rs 1.61 crore to Rs 5.26 crore. Other candidates, like Samadhan Sarvankar and Yamini Jadhav, also declared multi-crore asset jumps. These declarations come as approximately 1,700 candidates vie for 227 seats in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation polls.
