The event honors Air Commodore Mehar Singh, a legendary IAF figure known for his courage and extraordinary feats, including actions during World War II and the 1947-48 Indo-Pakistani War. He was recognized with the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) and notably landed aircraft in Poonch and Leh under challenging conditions.
