Karnataka has automated 99.4% of its Fair Price Shops (FPSs) by installing electronic Point of Sale (ePoS) devices, totaling 20,741 out of 20,862. This initiative, part of a digital modernization of the Public Distribution System (PDS) since April 2023, uses Aadhaar-based biometric authentication to distribute foodgrains, aiming to enhance transparency, reduce leakage, and prevent fraud. The system also supports initiatives like One Nation One Ration Card and the Mera Ration App.
