New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has rescinded executive orders from his predecessor, Eric Adams, including those that banned protests outside synagogues and restricted city support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. The orders also affected the use of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, took office on New Year's Eve, revoking orders issued after September 26, 2024, the date Adams was indicted.
