Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans to formulate a comprehensive 'Senior Residency Policy' for state medical colleges. The policy aims to optimize human resources by increasing the General Duty Officer quota in senior residency to 66 percent. New MD and MS programs will be introduced in several medical colleges, alongside the appointment of super-specialists. Additionally, 1,000 Patient Care Assistants (Rogi Mitras) will be hired, with a pilot project starting in Hamirpur. State-of-the-art ICUs are also planned for all medical colleges.
