Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee has criticized Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, dubbing him 'Vanish Kumar' and a 'magician' over alleged arbitrary deletions of voters from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal. Speaking at a rally in Alipurduar, a BJP stronghold, Banerjee likened the SIR exercise to demonetisation and accused the central government of misleading people. He also compared BJP MPs to snakes, warning voters against trusting the party and urging support for the TMC in the upcoming elections.
