Village Defence Guards (VDGs) across Jammu will receive weapons training this year, including handling SLRs and 303 rifles, in a phased manner. This initiative aims to counter rising terror activities in upper Jammu regions. The training, conducted by the army and paramilitary forces, will cover self-defense and guerrilla warfare techniques, enhancing VDGs' confidence in combating militants equipped with modern weaponry. This is part of a broader counter-terror strategy focusing on intensified operations in higher reaches.
