The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at multiple locations linked to the political consultancy firm I-PAC in Kolkata and Delhi as part of a money laundering probe into an alleged coal smuggling case. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the I-PAC chief's residence during the raids, accusing the ED of trying to seize her party's internal data and calling the action politically motivated. The ED, however, alleged that Banerjee obstructed the investigation and removed evidence, prompting it to move the Calcutta High Court. Opposition parties criticized Banerjee's actions.
