
Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's second Prime Minister, is remembered on his death anniversary, January 11, 1966. Born October 2, 1904, he is celebrated for his integrity and the slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan." Inspired by Gandhi and Tilak, he joined the independence movement in 1920. As PM, he led India to victory in the 1965 Indo-Pak war, famously stating, "Force will be met with Force."
