
India is closely monitoring developments in Iran amidst protests over inflation and currency devaluation, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated. While assuring that the situation is under control and Indian nationals are safe, the MEA previously advised avoiding non-essential travel to Iran. Reports indicate many have been killed during the protests, triggered by the rial's sharp fall. India has also sought consular access for 10 Indian crew members detained on a seized tanker.
