The Ministry of Defence has formed a high-level committee to review the non-functional upgradation (NFU) for armed forces personnel who do not receive promotions due to limited vacancies but have served for specific years. This review, prompted by a Supreme Court directive, aims to address the disparity where civilian bureaucracy receives NFU but armed forces do not. The committee will interact with respondents and legal representatives on January 5.
