The Delhi Cabinet has approved the free distribution of 1 kg of sugar per month to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries until March 2027. This initiative aims to provide hygienic, accurately measured, and safely stored sugar in standardized packets, addressing issues of contamination and short weighing associated with loose sugar distribution. Approximately 65,883 AAY families in Delhi are expected to benefit from this scheme, which aligns with the government's pro-poor policies and commitment to food security.
