Hussain filed an FIR naming Lahorighat MLA Dr. Mohammad Asif Najar, alleging the assault occurred on the MLA's orders during preparations for a party event. The dispute reportedly stemmed from the erection of banners for a Congress ticket aspirant, which allegedly angered the MLA.
