The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Haryana government to regularize the services of 41 daily wage workers who have been employed since the mid-1990s. Justice Moudgil, citing ancient Indian texts and the Bhagavad Gita's concept of 'lokasangraha,' emphasized that governance requires fairness and social stability, not just administrative convenience. The court stressed the state's obligation to protect and provide justice to its employees, particularly those in precarious positions, arguing that continuous benefit from service necessitates regularization.
