Jewellery shops in Bihar will deny entry to customers with covered faces, including hijabs, niqabs, masks, and helmets, citing security concerns amid rising gold and silver prices. The All India Jewellers and Gold Federation (AIJGF) stated the rule is for identification to prevent robberies and not targeted at any community. The RJD party criticized the move as unconstitutional and an attack on secular values and religious freedom, alleging a political agenda. Shop owners emphasize it applies to all, men and women, for safety.
