Vice-chancellors are questioning Professor Vinay Pathak's continued role as AIU president, alleging a misinterpretation of a Ministry of Education (MoE) order. Pathak's tenure officially ended last June, but the AIU cited an MoE directive to maintain status quo pending a restructuring committee's report. This committee's extension has prolonged Pathak's stay, despite the initial six-month status quo period ending in December. University officials argue the order did not intend for officials to remain in posts indefinitely.
