A Madhya Pradesh government-funded research project at Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University in Jabalpur, initiated in 2011 to explore Panchagavya (cow dung, urine, and milk products) for cancer treatment, is under investigation for alleged financial irregularities. An inquiry found that approximately Rs 1.92 crore was spent on materials and machinery, significantly exceeding market value estimates of Rs 15-20 lakh. The project, which received Rs 3.5 crore of a proposed Rs 8 crore, also reportedly incurred expenses on air travel and vehicle purchases, with minimal income generated.
